About the Arlington Heights, Illinois Area

Arlington Heights was founded in 1936 by Asa Dunton, a Yankee stonecutter. Originally named the town of Dunton after founder Asa Dunton who settled in 1936, Arlington Heights was renamed to its current title in 1855. When railroad tracks were built through the towns center, business quickly began to develop into a fully-functional and well populated town.

The population in Arlington Heights is currently 76,943 people. It is the largest community in the Chicago northwest suburban area. It has become a sought-after residential and business community and maintains that pride today.

Arlington Heights has grown into a strong community, preserving its small town appeal and including a variety of amenities for everyone to enjoy. Arlington Heights is serviced by 6 public elementary school districts, High School District 214, and Harper Community College for quality education.

Pick a nearby eatery from nearly 200 restaurants, offering dining of all cultures and price ranges including national chain restaurants, fine dining, cafes, pubs, bakeries, and pizzerias.

Real Estate Tips
Bargain Properties >Advice From Real Estate Agents

When buying a home, it is essential to cooperate as closely as possible with your real estate agent. This can be challenging, especially if your agent asks you to do some things that you don't particularly want to do to in order to get you moved into your new home as quickly as possible.

When real estate agents advise you regarding ways to make the transaction work, they are acting as part coach and part business consultant. If you find the house you love and want to "sleep on" the decision for a few days, the agent knows that you run the risk of losing the house. If you are inclined to complicate your offer with clauses that might make the contract unattractive to the sellers, the agent may ask you to consider some modifications. Should you call the week before the closing with an attack of "buyer's remorse", your agent knows the cure. Following your real estate agent's suggestions will increase your chances for a successful move!
