About the Buffalo Grove, Illinois Area | | | | | |
The Village of Buffalo Grove is located 35 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. Neighboring communities include Arlington Heights and the Village Wheeling, Long Grove, Vernon Hills, Lincolnshire, and Riverwoods. The very first pioneers to settle in Buffalo Grove came from New England in the mid 1800s and stayed for only a few years, receiving land grants from the government to settle on frontier property. They sold their land to German immigrants, who were pleased to find the land so cheap yet extremely fertile. Many scouted the area before bringing in their families to settle. Melchoir Raupp was unable to purchase the land he desired, so he traveled to Wisconsin but could not find the quality of land and community he had found in Buffalo Grove. So, he headed west after hearing about the gold in California. He found a few nuggets, enough to purchase the land in Buffalo Grove that he wanted, but at a difficult sacrifice: he had to literally walk back to Buffalo Grove! When he got back, he purchased the farm land and settled in with his family. The community today still values Buffalo Grove as priceless as those in its history. It has been one of the fastest growing communities in the Northwest suburbs since its incorporation in 1958. Buffalo Grove was titled one of “Fifty Fabulous Places to Raise Your Family” in a nationally published book by that title. Selling Your Home >No Risk Listing
Here is a seller scenario that may help you make your next move. Once you have decided to sell, you might be afraid to put your present home on the market until you have found a new one and completed purchase negotiations. You are concerned that most sellers are reluctant to finalize offers from buyers who must include a contingency calling for the sale of a current residence before buying the new one.
If you are in such a dilemma, the first step is to contact a professional real estate agent. The agent can show you how to list your home without the risk of putting your family out on the street. When you have a firm contract from a qualified buyer, you will become much more attractive to sellers. When you do find the perfect home, you will greatly increase your chances of being able to buy it.
